Oksana Matiiash
Teach for Ukraine
CEO
Oksana Matiiash decided to join Teach For Ukraine because of her personal story. She was born in a small Ukrainian town and went to a regular secondary school. Having high-quality teachers there was the key factor that helped her to get into Oxford and receive a fully-funded leadership scholarship to pursue her Master’s in Public Policy. Now, her goal is to create better educational opportunities for all children in Ukraine by addressing systemic injustices in Ukrainian classrooms. A lawyer by training, Oksana has a combination of experiences in the public, private, and international development sectors. From leading the judiciary reform component of an EU-funded program in Ukraine to serving as an advisor to an Ukranian Member of Parliament and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oksana has always been passionate about making a positive social impact in Ukraine.
