Annie Tolbert is the Manager of Development at the Council on Foundations. Before joining the Council, she spent seven years at Water.org, an international NGO with a mission of safe water and sanitation for all. Annie held multiple roles within the development team, including project management, where she focused on removing barriers that inhibited fundraising and, most recently, leading donor engagement amongst foundations, corporations, and philanthropists to drive revenue by providing donors with access, information, and experiences. Annie entered the nonprofit sector through an internship with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and further developed a passion for fundraising while working at Cerner Corporation, an innovative health technology company, where she was deeply engaged with Cerner’s Charitable Foundation. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver, where she received her Master’s in Public Administration, and the University of Kansas, where she majored in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Community Health and Development. Her favorite hobbies outside the office include road trips to visit friends and family, enjoying live music, obsessing over documentaries, and discovering new restaurants.

You should contact Annie for opportunities to support the Council’s work through sponsorships.
