Council on Foundations Welcomes Benjamin Chandler, Tia Hodges, Jenn Hoos Rothberg to 2024 Board of Directors
WASHINGTON - The Council on Foundations (the Council) announced that its membership has approved the appointment of three philanthropic leaders to its 2024 board of directors: Benjamin Chandler, President and CEO of the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, Tia Hodges, President and CEO of the MetLife Foundation, and Jenn Hoos Rothberg, Executive Director of the Einhorn Collaborative.
Before joining the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky in 2016, Benjamin Chandler spent a decade in Congress as a House representative for Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District. He also served two terms as Attorney General of Kentucky and works as a publisher for local newspapers. Deeply experienced in law and policy, Ben will bring further expertise and wisdom to the Council’s advocacy and public policy efforts.
Tia Hodges joined the MetLife Foundation in 2021 to lead the strategic evolution and grantmaking efforts of the foundation and also holds the role of Vice President for Corporate Giving, Employee Engagement & Volunteerism at MetLife. Tia has more than 20 years of experience creating and implementing strategies that drive systemic change at the intersection of philanthropy, nonprofit, and social impact. Her service on the boards of MetLife Foundation Korea and MetLife Foundation Mexico adds to the Council’s leadership on locally led development and global grantmaking.
Jennifer Hoos Rothberg leads Einhorn Collaborative, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to addressing America’s growing crisis of connection by advancing the science and practice of empathy, mutual understanding, and relationship building. Jenn oversees all aspects of the foundation in partnership with its Founder and Trustee, David Einhorn, including setting strategic priorities and building collaborative partnerships. Jenn brings years of experience in bridging divides to the Council’s focus on building common ground for stronger communities.

Members of the Council’s Board of Directors represent a diverse range of expertise, personal demographics, experiences, philanthropic institutions, and geographic locations. Collectively the board guides the implementation of the Council’s strategic vision and partners with the chief executive to ensure that the Council’s work is values-driven and member-informed.
