Supporting Local Journalism

In recent years, local news outlets have faced unprecedented pressures from declining revenue and increased complexities of operational structures. Local journalism is a significant factor in building trust and strengthening communities, in which community foundations have the opportunity to be key players. In partnership with CEONet, this roundtable discussion was held on March 9, 2023, to learn and share about how community foundations can support local journalism.  

This roundtable discussion focused on: 

• What are examples of how community foundation leaders are ensuring quality local journalism?  
• What are some of the best practices of the programs and funds that support local journalism?
