NEW MEMBERS JOIN COUNCIL ON FOUNDATIONS BOARD
Elections Held at Annual Conference
The Council on Foundations elected two new members to its board of directors on April 8, during the 2013 Annual Conference in Chicago.
“These strategic thought leaders are excellent additions to our board, which will help guide and support the Council’s new role as a hub within a larger philanthropic network nurturing relationships and connections between our members, government, business, academia, and more,” said President and CEO Vikki Spruill.
The new board members elected to serve a three-year term are Stephanie Bell-Rose, senior managing director, TIAA-CREF Institute; and Dinah Waldsmith Dittman, national director, community engagement and philanthropy, Kaiser Permanente.
Several board members were also re-elected for a three-year term: Carol Goss, president and CEO, The Skillman Foundation; Carla Roberts, president and CEO, Fremont Area Community Foundation; and Diana Sieger, president, Grand Rapids Community Foundation.
The following members were reappointed as board officers: Sherry Magill, president, Jessie Ball duPont Fund (vice chair); Akhtar Badshah, senior director of global community affairs, Microsoft (secretary); and Will Ginsberg, president and CEO, Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (treasurer). Kevin Murphy, president of the Berks County Community Foundation, is serving the second year of his two-year term as board chair.
In addition to the newly elected members, the following two individuals joined the board as part of their roles as chair of the Community Foundations Leadership Team and the Corporate Committee, respectively, in accordance with Council bylaws: Grant Oliphant, president and CEO, The Pittsburgh Foundation; and Wendy Ramage Hawkins, executive director, Intel Foundation.
