Corporate Philanthropy Update - August 2019
Like myself, I know many of you are using the summer as a time to reflect on your progress from the first half of the year and strategize on how to finish 2019 strong.
At the Council, we’ve used the past months to meet with diverse stakeholders as we look to redefine our value, approach and overarching mission to advance the greater good of society. Through a series of targeted conversations to Reimagine Council Membership, our focus has centered on listening to the field, learning where to sharpen what works well at the Council and determining what we can improve for our members.
We are listening. The feedback we continuously receive about the Council’s Legal Services and its value to both new and seasoned practitioners led us to launch our Legal Matters Workshop for Corporate Foundations & Giving Programs this year. This program has gained momentum and expanded corporate philanthropy networks with each event; and we look forward to expanding this resource to more cities in 2020. If you haven’t had a chance to participate in any of our programming this year, register today for our upcoming Legal Event in Chicago, IL on September 5th.
Your feedback is essential. We want to hear your suggestions on how the Council can create greater value for your company and your foundation. I invite you to schedule a quick chat with the Council’s CEO, Kathleen Enright, join an upcoming teleconference or email your thoughts to kathleenlistens@cof.org.
